Rafati came to Canada at 17, looking for greater freedom. Without language skills or family support, she nevertheless was soon enrolled in computer science at UBC. She moved quickly into the world of reconciling the rights and revenue of streaming video, and her company, BroadBandTV, has grown to global reach and major partnerships.
