Rupi Kaur has attracted millions of followers for her online poetry, in part because of her elegant evocation of her experiences as an immigrant and a woman.

Rupi Kaur, 1992- , India.
Kaur moved to Canada with her family at four, settling in Brampton. She graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2015, having studied English. She had already self-published milk and honey, her first volume of poetry, in 2014. Her poems are composed and presented as mixed media, for social media: an elegant pairing of spare language and a minimal line drawing. In book form, Kaur has sold millions of copies of her collected poems.
